Lido 14 Class Association Secretary Jenn Rohr presents the following Annual Meeting Notice
Proposed Lido Class Association Slate of Officers for 2024/2025:
President – Butch Michel
VP – Grant Hill
Treasurer – Marty Parisien
Secretary – Jenn Rohr
Chief Measurer – Tom Jenkins
Director – Tom McLaughlin
Director – Mark Ryan
The Lido 14 2024 Executive Officers present the following By-Law change:
Strike #4 from Article XVII - Sanctioned Events
Article XVII - Sanctioned Events
The Class Championship Regatta shall be held in the second week of August or such other date as may be fixed by the Governing Board, provided it shall not be held in the same district for more than two (2) consecutive year and shall not be held in the same fleet location as held in the previous year unless no other fleet is willing or able to have it.
REASONING FOR REMOVAL:
Over the past several years it has become apparent that the limitation of #4 of Article XVII - Sanctioned Events; has imposed too tight of a restriction on where and when the Class Championship Regatta is to be conducted. The Lido 14 Board would like to remove said restrictions to open up future venues that require a wider range in timing for when the Class Championship Regatta is to be conducted and allow a greater amount of flexibility for the CCR Event.
History- This By-Law stems to a certain extent from when our Class had a large portion of teachers and school administrators sailing, as well as a large contingent of young school aged sailors within the fleet.
The Lido 14 2024 Executive Officers present the following By-Law change:
Membership Levels:
· Reduce the 10 levels of membership to one level of membership.
· A member can be any individual who wishes to support the organization by registering as a member with the Lido 14 Class Association and paying the fees.
· All other membership levels have been eliminated.
Only language related to membership has been updated throughout the by-laws. No other provisions/rules in the by-laws have been impacted by this change.
· Voting rights remain with boat-owning members.

The Lido 14 was designed to be a comfortable day sailor and quickly turned into one of the most popular one-design classes for sailboat racing. It continues to be the chosen boat for those wanting to enjoy sailboat racing at any level. For beginners with their friends and family, it is a very simple and affordable entry into the world of sailboat racing. For experienced racers, the Lido 14 is a ‘tactical’ boat and you can expect to find the nation’s best sailors competing on the race course.
The Lido 14 dinghy was designed by W. D. Bill Schock, owner of the Schock Corporation, in 1958 in Newport Beach, CA. Now there are active sailing fleets in CA, WA, TX, LA, OR, UT, and OH.
